Happy Wife Happy Life

Let’s face it sometimes our guys need a little help in the planning department to pull off that romantic weekend away. Sometime men think they need to do something big but when they can’t think of something new or creative so they do nothing. So rather than focusing on the big things, how about some little suggestions to put the smile back on your bride’s face? Of course this starts with the first step of booking the Boatel for your special getaway. HINT: If you want to score big points then book the whole boat for just the two of you.

Once the dates are secured then order the cheese and crackers platter for your welcome reception to go along with her favorite bottle of wine that your picked up for her. Sitting up on the Sky Lounge you can enjoy a beverage while discussing what you have planned for her for the weekend. You can suggest that she take a nap before dinner so that she is rested for the evening. It only takes a few minutes with the gentle motion of the boat to fall asleep. We can help you plan your dinner reservations based on budget and preference of cuisine.

For example we might suggest a quiet table Le Select Bistro with cBobber at nightomplimentary glass of champagne. Take the time to stop off at the Big Red Canoe for a quick smooch! On the way back from the Bistro you may want to walk among the lit fishing bobbers in City Place Park and then stop at one of the benches at Ireland Park to capture one of the best views of the city at night. Back at the Boatel all is quiet as you head up to the Sky Lounge for a night cap before bed. You will be quite surprised how on a clear night you can see so many stars in the sky in a city as large as large as Toronto.

The next morning both of you can relax on the bow deck with your coffee as you discover the slower pace at the marina. Breakfast is served on the enclosed aft sundeck with a lively discussion with Captain Ted about life at sea and their winter spent cruising water taxi in Torontoin the Bahamas. Since we have reserved Five Star Water Taxi the night before, they arrive promptly at 10am to pick you up for a ride over to Toronto Island where they will drop you off near Centre Island where you can pick you a tandem bike for a ride through the park. After your lunch in the outside garden patio at The Rectory you can walk along to boardwalk to the beach for a refreshing dip in Lake Ontario. You can catch the Toronto Ferry back to the main land. It’s about a 20 minute walk along the waterfront back to the Boatel but there’s always time for a drink at the Amsterdam Brew Pub for beer made at their microbrewery. Be sure to ask for a Muskoka chair on the patio overlooking the harbour.

If you have reserved the whole boat then you can have dinner aboard the Boatel for just the two of you. Otherwise Diane can help you with dinner reservations but don’t worry there are 2000 restaurants within a 30 minute walk. You might also have the option of a dinner cruise aboard one of the ships in the harbour depending on the schedule. Wednesday night is free outdoor movie night at Harbourfront Centre and Thursday is Dancing on the Pier with free dance lessons and also a free concert at the Toronto Music Garden at 7pm. Friday and Saturday you can catch one of the free Festivals at Harbourfront Centre or even a Blue Jays game if she is a baseball fan.

Happy Wife The next morning you get up looking forward to having coffee at your favorite deck on the Boatel. A delicious Sailors Breakfast is served for you in the sunroom and you are already wishing that you could stay longer and planning your next visit.  As you look at the smile on her face you realize that not only do you have a Happy Wife, you have a Happy Life!

Book your romantic getaway NOW!
