Less than a year away the excitement of the Pan American and the ParaPan American Games is building. Toronto will be the host city for these games with 41 Pan American Nations participating from the Americas and the Caribbean with over ten thousand athletes, coaches and officials in 36 sports and 15 Parapan sports. The TORONTO 2015 Games will also include municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area from Oshawa to Welland.
The dates for the Pan Am Games are July 10 to 26 and the Parapan Am Games from August 7 to 15.
So much construction is underway to prepare to prepare for the games. For example the new Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in Scarborough will have two new 50-metre pools with a separate dive tank with multiple levels of dive platforms and a dry land training facility with trampolines. One pool will have a movable floor for individuals with disabilities. The facility will also have four full size gymnasiums, a fitness centre and a climbing wall. The Etobicoke Olympium Pool is currently closed in order to prepare for the upgrades need to host the games. Toronto 2015 Games will hosts Aquatic Sports including water polo, diving, open water swimming, competitive race and synchronized swimming. The legacy of the games will also benefit Toronto residents for years to come
